It’s crazy to think its 2019 and we’re getting a new L7 record. Well, maybe it’s not entirely crazy at all- but one of the original female-fronted grunge rock bands are making their return after a 20-year wait. The band have released the new single “Burn Baby” in anticipation of their new record, Scatter the Rats, due for release May 3rd on Blackheart Records.
L7 were one of the bands I discovered in my formative years that told me that women could rock just as hard, or even harder than the dudes. “Pretend We’re Dead” is still one of my favorite songs.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, the band released their debut album in 1988. Prior to the upcoming Scatter the Rats, their last studio album was 1999’s Slap-Happy.
