It looks like the DC Universe continues to atone for its Justice League sins with the new trailer for Shazam! Less brooding, more funny, less serious, more goofy. And not a Zack Snyder in sight! The film is about a 14-year-old kid who finds himself transported into another realm, and is given superpowers by a wizard. The now superpowered Shazam must learn how to deal with his powers and fight a supervillain, all while still being a 14-year-old kid.

Shazam! takes places a few years after the events of Justice League and stars Zachary Levi as the title character, Mark Strong, and Djimon Hounsou.

The film is directed by David F. Sandberg (from 2016 horror film Lights Out) off a screen play by Henry Gayden. Shazam! will zap into cinemas April 5th.

It does look better than Man of Steel.
