George Clooney leads impressive The Monuments Men trailer

Award winning celluloid or maybe too much high-art?

George Clooney leads an impressive cast in The Monuments Men, and its second trailer has just been released. Tasked with saving precious art aimed at being destroyed by Hitler and the Nazis during World War II, the film showcases the impressive acting credentials of Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray and John Goodman to name a bunch.

Along with taking on the director's chair, Clooney co-wrote the screenplay based on the book, The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History. 

From the trailer, it looks like the film blends the aristocratic nature of high art with awkward-Bill Murray-type humour. Everything one could possibly want in a war film. Award winning celluloid or maybe too much high-art?

The film is slated to open December 18.
